Professional Bio
Raejean Porter, PT holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of The West Indies, Mona, School of Physical Therapy. Early in her career as a Physiotherapist she was offered the opportunity to join the team at UWI SODECO an international research charity within the University of the West Indies. While there, she gained a wealth of knowledge in experimental research focusing mainly on the use of exercise and became more proficient in working with persons found to have Osteoporosis and or Sarcopenia.
In 2018, Raejean began practicing fulltime as an outpatient Physiotherapist. Since then, she has worked with a myriad of patients varying in diagnosis and has found her true passion lies in treating and teaching patients and clients 65 years and older; creating her area of interest in Geriatric care more so patients diagnosed with or predisposed to Osteopenia and Osteoporosis.
Her desire for learning and providing her patients and clients with the best possible care has led her to completing numerous continued educational courses and most recently completing certification courses through the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Evidence in Motion Health Sciences Institute. Since 2018, Raejean has planned and participated in public engagements and campaigns raising awareness on the benefits of exercise in the older population especially persons with Osteoporosis or low bone density and the gains of preventing same.
